PYRATEX® tropic fabrics are a result of a collaboration between Lenzing, Flocus, Marchi & Fildi and Studio MLR. The kapok fiber comes from the seed of the kapok tree and is picked straight from the pod in fiber form which means the tree is left untouched and allowed to regenerate naturally.

The kapok tree itself grows naturally in tropical forests and is equipped with antibacterial properties thus preventing the need for irrigation, chemical fertilisers or pesticides. Owing to its characteristic fiber state, there is no need for fiber processing thus limiting the amount of energy and water used to produce fabric from this fibre.
